The Changing Layers and Climate of Wandsworth

Sunday 19 June starting at 10.30am at Balham Underground Station

A five mile Geology and Art walk with the London Geodiversity Partnership and artist Gail Dickerson. The walk cross Wandsworth Common and Wandsworth
Cemetery looking for clues to the underlying geology. It will continue down the River Wandle to the new Climate Hub in Wandsworth Southside Centre where there will be a display on the changing layers and climate of Wandsworth and an exhibit of earth samples from the layers of geological strata below Wandsworth. Alongside this is an exhibition of artwork by Gail Dickerson made from these collected samples from Tideway’s shaft at Kirtling Street in Nine Elms. After lunch the walk will continue on to follow the River Wandle to its outlet into the River Thames and then on to Putney Bridge to finish before 4.
