Peter Collins
29 December 1942 to 5 August 2024
Peter passed away at the age of 81. He joined the London Geodiversity Partnership in 2009 not long after it had been formed.
I joined the gathering of family and friends on 23 August for his burial at Oakfield Wood, Wrabness. We gathered at Tony and Janet’s barn close to Oakfield Wood. At the burial a heartfelt farewell to Peter was given by Billy, long-term friend.
After the burial we gathered at Tony and Janet’s where many tributes were shared, which captured all facets of his life and what he meant to everybody.
The sun shone all day for Peter.

I took this for Gill and family, where it was displayed with other photographs at the gathering. This is followed with a personal recollection by Diana Clements and the tribute given at the gathering by Michael Hacker.

Paul Rainey was a very active member of the London Geodiversity Partnership who died on Monday 9 January 2023 at home. He had been an active member of LGP since its inception in 2008 and the Ravensbourne Geological Society. The obituary was written for the Geologists’ Association who has given its permission for us to publish.
