Conservation Day at Riddlesdown
3rd October 2026
Celebrating International Geodiversity Day 2026 and organised by the London Geodiversity Partnership and City of London Corporation
Another successful geoconservation day took place on 3rd October at Riddlesdown Chalk Quarry near Croydon. Organised in collaboration with the City of London Corporation, new summer vegetation was cleared from the quarry by our volunteers. Liam Gallagher led a tour of the exposed geology in the chalk pit and Oneke Tebbs (left) brought along some fossil sea urchins which she had found the previous year and has now prepped beautifully! Many thanks to everyone who came along to help! A good job, well done.
